Communication

The national language is Vietnamese. English and French is spoken, especially in the major tourist centres in hotels and restaurants. With German and Russian you might get lucky in some areas. .

Otherwise, a conversation with world-famous "hands and feet" is always possible, and Vietnamese have a friendly natural.

A small note: To find your way back to your hotel, always take a business card. This will ease the communication with the driver.
